September Birthstone

This month we are taking a closer look at the September Birthstone which is Sapphire.

The September birthstone Sapphire is chemically and structurally the same as Ruby both are varieties of the mineral corundum. Sapphires are well know among the general public as being blue, but can be nearly any colour except shades of red or pink (since those are called rubies)

Sapphire is associated with the values of truth, sincerity, commitment, and loyalty.

The Duchess of Cambridge recently accepted a second piece of jewellery owned by the late Diana Princess of Wales. The diamond and sapphire earrings have a similar cluster design to her engagement ring. The Duchess added her own touch by remodelling the studs into drop earring. We think she looks beautiful wearing them.
